Cost breakdown · part by part

A website cost breakdown, part by part.

Every element a business website needs, what it normally costs separately, and how it sits inside one fixed price here.

A website is not one thing, which is why quotes are so hard to compare. It is a domain, an email address, a certificate, hosting, design, build and the search groundwork, and any of them can be quietly left out of a price.

This page lists each part so you can hold any quote against it — including mine. All of it sits inside £350 all in here, then £19.99 a month.

The parts

What a business website is actually made of.

Domain name

Your website address, bought and pointed for you, and registered in your business name so it stays yours. Included.

Business email address

A proper you@yourbusiness.co.uk address rather than a Gmail. Included, on your own domain.

SSL certificate

The padlock in the browser. Without it visitors see a warning before they see your business. Included.

Hosting

Where the site actually lives. Free for the first three months, then part of the £19.99 a month.

Design

The layout, type and colour, designed around your business rather than dropped into a theme. Included.

Build

Turning the design into a fast, mobile-first site, checked on phone, tablet and desktop before launch. Included.

Search foundations

Page titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, a sitemap and the local wording, set up at build time rather than sold back to you later. Included.

Support and changes

Content changes, updates, backups and someone to ring. Part of the £19.99 a month, not charged by the hour.

What costs extra

The honest list of what is not in the price.

Online booking and deposits

A website with booking built in is £479 all in rather than £350.

A new logo and print

Website, logo and matching print together is the £679 rebrand package.

Ongoing SEO work

The foundations are included; continuing monthly work to climb further is optional and starts at £119 a month.

Photography and stock

Your own photos are best and cost nothing. If images have to be bought, that cost is quoted before anything is purchased.

Common questions

Straight answers.

How much of the £350 is the design?
The bulk of it. The domain, email and certificate are small costs; what you are paying for is the design and build time, and the fact that the search groundwork is done properly at the same time. The whole lot is £350.
Can I supply my own domain?
Yes. If you already own one it is pointed at the new site and nothing is charged for a second one.
What happens after three months of free hosting?
Hosting, maintenance, security updates, backups, content changes and support become £19.99 a month. Nothing else changes and there is no contract period.
Is the search groundwork really included?
Yes. Titles, descriptions, headings, structured data and a sitemap are part of building a page properly, not an upsell.
