What the project had to achieve
- Make a local, family run shop feel as polished as a national flooring chain
- Let people choose a starting point by the floor they want rather than by trade jargon
- Put the free measure, free gripper rods and free door bars front and centre
- Make calling the shop or booking a home visit the easiest action on any screen
What made it tricky
- Five overlapping ranges (carpets, vinyl, laminate, LVT, rugs and binding) had to stay easy to tell apart
- Flooring is chosen visually, so the photography had to carry the decision without slowing the site down
- Older customers browsing on a phone needed large, obvious buttons and a tappable phone number
- The free extras had to read as genuinely included, not as a sales gimmick
How I approached it
- A warm, homely design in oak tones and soft neutrals so the site feels like the finished room, not a trade catalogue
- A full-width hero with one line of positioning and two routes in: book a free measure or call the shop
- A choose your floor section with five range cards, each with a real fitted photo and what it suits best
- A three-panel block for the things never charged extra: free estimates, free gripper rods and free door bars
- A four-step how it works section running from first call to fitted by our own team, so there are no surprises
- A textures gallery of real fitted work, including stair runners, herringbone LVT and laminate living rooms
- Trust built from what is true: Rhosymedre based, family run, own fitters, home select service and Facebook reviews
- Click to call and enquiry buttons repeated down the page and pinned in the header for phone users
